Welcome To Pembrokeshire Fencing Club

The Pembrokeshire Fencing Club started in the early 1970's at the Tower Hill Youth Centre and was run more as a social fencing club than it is today. In the beginning it was known as the Haverfordwest and District Fencing Club, and over the years has moved around various venues in the Haverfordwest area.
We moved to Pembroke Dock in the early 1990's, and then in late 2006 to our current venue at Thornton Hall, Milford Haven.
Over the years the club has produced and continues to do so, numerous fencers at Junior, Senior and Veteran level who have represented Wales up to Commonwealth Level and now members of the club represent Great Britain. Indeed there has not been a single year since the 1970's when the club has not had members in one or more of the national squads.
Both individually and as teams we have had many considerable successes at both Welsh National and U.K. competitions.
Perhaps our only problem is that many of our younger fencers go on to university, and often do not return to Pembrokeshire afterwards except on a flying visit.
Still, our loss at that stage is certainly another clubs gain!
